Analysis of the chassis of SAIC Roewe RX5, not seeking success but seeking nothing.
[Aika car SUV channel original]
Roewe RX5′ s monthly sales of 20,000 units can be said to have earned enough profits and eyeballs for SAIC. It must be said that SAIC’s accumulation in styling design in recent years has brought exquisite appearance to RX5, and another group of young people in the same R&D center have also created many topics for RX5 human-computer interaction system with their unique ideas. What kind of world is hidden under such a car that shines brightly?
The vehicle we shot this time is Roewe RX5 20T two-wheel drive Internet Smart Edition, equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, driven by front wheel drive.
I. Overview of Chassis
Similar to the chassis structure of many compact SUVs on the market, RX5 adopts McPherson independent front suspension and E-type multi-link independent rear suspension. The chassis of RX5 has no redundant guard plate to protect the parts, from which we can also see that it focuses on the positioning of urban road conditions. However, through analysis, we can still find that RX5 is worthy of its price and people’s attention in chassis structure and materials.
RX5 adopts a frame-type front subframe, which can not only improve the overall strength of the front of the car body, but also make the force on the front of the car body more uniform.
RX5′ s two-wheel drive vehicle adopts a rear subframe similar to H-shape, and almost all the connecting rods on the rear suspension apply force to the rear subframe, thus reducing the direct impact of suspension on the vehicle body. The rear subframe of RX5 four-wheel drive vehicle is structurally different from that of two-wheel drive vehicle.
Second, the front suspension analysis
RX5′ s McPherson independent front suspension is really nothing too surprising. Indeed, for most cars under 200,000 yuan on the market, it is too ordinary to adopt McPherson front suspension. However, the details of the RX5 front suspension still have its own special features.
On the whole, the front suspension adjustment of RX5 tends to be comfortable, and the damping spring can filter out most small vibrations, but for some relatively large vibrations, the response of the spring is a bit stiff. Usually, the relatively large vibration will be directly transmitted to the car, which makes people somewhat unprepared. However, thanks to this adjustment, RX5 has a good performance in controlling roll.
Third, the rear suspension analysis
RX5 adopts E-type multi-link independent rear suspension, which is also quite common in the same class. This multi-link suspension adopts a vertical and three horizontal conventional structure, and most of the connecting rods are stamped from steel plates, and there is not much innovation in the arrangement of connecting rods.
