From the sub-indices, the business express index and rural express index dropped by 4.1 and 3.1 percentage points respectively, falling below 100%; Cross-border dropped slightly by 2.2 percentage points, but above 100%; The employee index and convenience index also declined to varying degrees. On the whole, the domestic economic operation has slowed down this month, and the frequent spread of epidemics has had a certain impact on the production and operation of enterprises. Under the influence of short-term factors, the supply and demand ends of the market have narrowed, and the consumption and employment markets have been restricted again in the case of improvement last month, and the express delivery index has fallen back below 100%.

The manufacturing business express index dropped slightly. In October, the business express index of manufacturing industry was 98.8%, down 5.1 percentage points from last month, and 10 of the 21 industry indexes of manufacturing industry were higher than 100%. In terms of industries, the trend of basic raw materials and chemical industry fluctuated at a low level. The business express index of ferrous metal smelting and processing industry, nonferrous metal smelting and processing industry and chemical raw material products industry was 94.8%, 95.8% and 94.2%, down 2.5-3.7 percentage points from last week. The equipment manufacturing industry as a whole presents a relatively active trend. Equipment manufacturing and transportation equipment manufacturing declined slightly by 2.2 and 4.3 percentage points, but the overall level was still around 102%. Special equipment manufacturing and other manufacturing industries rebounded slightly by 1.6 and 1.1 percentage points, and the business express index of communication equipment manufacturing and automobile manufacturing reached above 105%. Business activities of consumer goods manufacturing industry are on the rise. Driven by the "Eleventh" National Day holiday, the business express index of some consumer goods manufacturing industries continued to rise. Among them, the business express index of textile industry, textile and apparel industry, food, wine and medicine manufacturing industry was 0.6-0.9 percentage points higher than that of the previous month, and the wood and furniture manufacturing industry rebounded by 1.5 percentage points to reach the level of more than 105%.

Business activities in the service industry have slowed down. In October, the business express index of service industry was 98.2%, down 3.3 percentage points from last month, and 6 of the 14 industry indexes of service industry were higher than 100%. In terms of industries, under the continuous influence of the epidemic, most sub-indices have declined this month. Among them, the real estate business express index was 102.9%, down 2.3 percentage points from last month. The basic service industry has a good prosperity. The business express index of scientific research technology and information technology services remained above 105%, down 1.7 and up 2.8 percentage points respectively from last month. Business activities in the production and service industries declined in an all-round way, all below 100%. The business express index of finance, wholesale and retail and logistics services dropped by 1.5, 1.3 and 3.8 percentage points compared with last month. The business activities of consumer entertainment-related service industries continued to be weak and active. The indexes of accommodation, catering, rental services, culture, sports, entertainment and business express were 90.5%, 96.3% and 90.1%, dropping 3.6-5.2 percentage points from the low level.

Jobs have narrowed. In October, the employee index was 102.5%, down 1.1 percentage points from the previous month. By region, the index of employees in the eastern, central and western regions has declined to varying degrees, with a range of 0.7-3.8 percentage points. The employee index in Northeast China rebounded slightly from last month, reaching 102.1%.

The convenience of business operations has dropped rapidly. In October, under the influence of frequent outbreaks, the convenience index dropped by 3.2 percentage points from the previous month to 52.2%. In terms of sub-items, the accessibility index was 55.5%, down 1.5 percentage points from last month; The convenience index of government services was 50.7%, down 2.6 percentage points from last month; The convenience index of public facilities was 52.7%, down 3.8 percentage points from last month; The delivery convenience index was 50.1%, down 5 percentage points from last month.
