Bright spots! China Mobile Car Networking Achievements Appeared at Shanghai International Auto Show.

From April 18 to 27, 2023, the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition was held in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), showing the new look of technology leading the automobile industry to change in a new era. At the exhibition, China Mobile focused on the ToV market’s "car, road, network, cloud and map" capabilities, showing its core advantages and important achievements in the fields of intelligent networking, intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving, which attracted a lot of attention. With the theme of "Go all out to go out with blood", China Mobile held an expedition ceremony for the car networking corps, and awarded military orders and flags to 14 teams and provinces, marking the official expedition of the car networking corps of China Mobile.

Intelligent networking: building a secure cloud and a powerful network

The intelligent networked system based on secure cloud and powerful network provides basic guarantee for intelligent networked vehicles. Relying on mobile cloud’s ability, China Mobile has realized the "N-31-X" resource layout, provided professional cloud services with integrated cloud and network, and supported the business needs of various scenarios in the automobile industry. "Mobile Cloud creates safe, compliant, stable and reliable cloud infrastructure services and capabilities, builds a car enterprise cloud and an autonomous driving cloud for the whole life cycle of automobiles, and provides unified data and analysis for car companies and autonomous driving R&D enterprises."

Relying on 5G cellular network, high-precision positioning network and vehicle-road collaborative network, China Mobile has realized the basic capabilities of communication and calculation, high-precision positioning and mapping, and integrated perception and information interaction. At the same time, using the edge computing power of 5G, it provides information services for self-driving vehicles of different grades.

A strong network cannot be separated from the support of computing power. Faced with the higher demand for secure and reliable connection and computing power network in the field of intelligent network connection, China Mobile takes advantage of 5G-edge computing to meet the demand of secure and reliable connection and low-delay computing power supply, and builds a highly reliable collaborative computing network application.

Intelligent cockpit: deep integration of infotainment and intelligent service

"Know Your Car" is the highlight of China Mobile’s participation in this exhibition. The information and entertainment sharing product of "People and Car Home" debuted for the first time. Through the capacity base of China Mobile’s OneTraffic platform, it provided four capabilities: unified mall operation, "People and Car Home" integrated operation, ecological aggregation service and refined service operation, which met the needs of car companies such as content services, car owners’ traffic renewal service and car rights subscription.

"This is a car-end product that combines the capabilities of China Mobile’s own products. It applies the unified account capability and self-owned content product capability of China Mobile to the car-end, and creates car owners’ service products through high-frequency usage scenarios such as refueling and traffic recharge." According to the on-site staff, the product can quickly identify the owner’s personal network information through the identification of the Internet of Things card-real name interface; Users can use a small phone bill to pay for the traffic products in the car and get through the consumption behavior of people and cars. The audio and video rights purchased in the car can be shared on the mobile phone.

The Miguyuan Cosmic Intelligent Cockpit is another eye-catching exhibition. China Mobile, through technologies such as 5G﹢AI﹢XR, has joined hands with many car companies to build a Meta-Cosmic Intelligent Cockpit, which provides users with a one-stop entertainment service of "listening, singing, watching and playing".

Intelligent driving: high-precision "map" and intelligent "road" escort safety

China Mobile has deployed and tested indoor Beidou positioning equipment in several tunnels and venues, and achieved seamless outdoor lane-level navigation, accurate navigation in tunnels and continuous indoor and outdoor navigation, which is forming a leading space-time information capability in the industry.

"China Mobile’s joint partner tackled technical problems such as seamless connection and positioning of indoor and outdoor Beidou, and obtained more than 10 patents, creating the first indoor and outdoor continuous high-precision positioning based on Beidou." On-site staff told reporters that China Mobile’s self-developed indoor Beidou base station, terminals and other equipment can regenerate Beidou satellite signals in indoor scenes, which can provide accurate positioning and navigation indoors and provide accurate location services for intelligent driving in tunnels, parking lots and other scenes.

Smart intersection is the junction of smart cars and smart cities, and it is also an important edge node for future vehicle-road coordination. Vehicle-road coordination, scene verification and commercialization of autonomous driving all need to rely on intersections to achieve landing, which is an important node of "facing the future and compatible with the present".

"The smart intersection platform relies on the operator’s edge cloud, 5G and C-V2X converged networking capabilities to gather multi-source sensing data at the intersection and provide low-latency dual-channel information services for vehicles." On-site staff introduced relevant applications to reporters, including security, efficiency improvement, information service and traffic management.

At the Shanghai Auto Show, there were many highlights in the China Mobile Exhibition Area. "In the future, China Mobile will seize the strategic opportunity of building a transportation power, a network power and a digital China, integrate superior resource capabilities such as network, cloud and map, focus on breaking through core technologies, make full efforts to seize strategic highlands, and accelerate to become the first provider of market information services."
